I have always wanted my own business and generally always had some sort of side hustle – everything from babysitting at age 10 to doing taxes and my first MLM direct sales company at 16. The problem was I HATED TO SELL! (maybe your can relate …)
Salesmen 💼 were not looked upon very fondly in my family – and no wonder. Door-to-door and cold calling and bothering people who didn’t want bothering – ICK! – everyone feels awkward – you have to HIDE or else invent an excuse to make them go away – and the salesperson must endure constant rejection (that feels nice) – there has to be a better way!
As a former people pleaser, the last thing on earth I wanted to do was bother people – but the products and services I had (have) are so AWESOME, how would people know and love them too – if I didn’t find a way to tell them?
It seemed I could not “have it all”. It seemed I had only two choices:
• be a successful business owner –
• or give in to my people pleasing nature, have people like me – and sacrifice my dreams.
How do you do this without making things weird? 🙃
Maybe you can relate.
You want to learn social media to meet new people and grow your business. You post funny 😸 cat memes to show your wicked sense of humour and you have LOADS of likes and hearts and comments.
But you put out one thing relating to your business and ——CRICKETS. 🦗🦗🦗
No interest. No engagement.
And then this starts to play inside your head:
“What happened? Didn’t anyone see it? Doesn’t anyone love it? Maybe I’ve annoyed everyone? Oh geez, maybe I’ve offended people, I better delete it …… “ and on and on and on.
You beat up on yourself and start to overthink everything!!
Well, fortunately, there is another way. It’s called “attraction marketing”.
