30 Truths
So, this may come as no surprise to you, but I’m going to do something that is actually terrifying in a lot of ways. I am doing a 30 Challenge #exposeyourtruth.
While some people see me as courageous, others see me as “out there”. Some people are encouraged and inspired, others are repelled and shaking their heads.
The truth about why I take the leap and continue to bare my soul is definitely two-fold – the first is about my own journey and self-growth, and the second is to give others “permission” to do the same.
I don’t know about you, but I’m kind of tired of how the sensationalized is the only thing that gets any press these days. It veers towards the very, very good Rockstar and Kardashian world that is somehow put on a pedestal (despite increasing drug addictions, multiple surgeries, disposable marriages, scandalous reports and outright betrayal) and the very, very bad (school shootings, mass murders, racist and homophobic crimes against society, and our total hot mess of politics going on right now – SMH).
But this stuff is only a distraction from our day-to-day lives, which is generally nothing like that. The truth is being lost amid extremes and sensation. And I fear our youth will learn to emulate the extremes and perpetuate the situation and harm our future.
And so, I wish to bring a level of honesty and authenticity, to show how real life is behind the mask, and I know it will be hard.
I fear judgement.
I fear being belittled and mocked.
I fear the exposure.
But mostly, I fear that I won’t be strong enough to be honest with myself – and in turn – with you.
And so it begins! 30 Truths About Myself in 30 Days
.
If at any time you are inspired to join me, PM for the details.
Much love, Tracy
